A Texas man is accused of fatally shooting another man that he “mistakenly believed” killed his brother, a report said.
Norman Collier IV, 22, allegedly carried out the crime at an April 25 memorial for his slain 19-year-old sibling Camran Collier, KWTX reported, citing police.
The younger Collier was shot dead by a male suspect on April 22 while sitting inside a Honda Accord, the report said.
Following his death, rumors began swirling online about his alleged killer.
Police said the older Collier “mistakenly believed the internet rumors.”
At the balloon release ceremony for his brother, the older Collier allegedly fatally shot Kolby Graham, 20.
The suspect “took revenge against the wrong man,” police said.
The older Collier is charged with capital murder. He is being held in jail on $1 million bond.
